Event description:
Advancing quantum computing through experimentally-motivated theory: the emergence of non-classicality
In this talk, I will discuss how theory and experiments can work together to advance the field of quantum computing. I will present examples from my research where we used tools from theoretical computer science to answer questions motivated by quantum experiments. Specifically, I will focus on how connectivity constraints influence the emergence of non-classicality, or “quantumness”; and recent and upcoming work studying how noise affects quantumness.
