Dear YQI Community,
2024 was an amazing year for YQI, when we “celebrated a decade of excellence” (re-visit our 10-year milestones on the timeline created by Yale News here).
And now, even more exciting, we are entering 2025, proclaimed by the United Nation and UNESCO as the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ)!
This year-long, worldwide initiative will celebrate the contributions of quantum science to technological progress over the past century, raise global awareness of its importance to sustainable development in the 21st century, and ensure that all nations have access to quantum education and opportunities.
The Yale Quantum Institute is a participating partners of this initiative and will bring you a lot of exciting events making quantum science accessible to all!
We are kickstarting the year by touring the museum exhibition “The Quantum Revolution: Handcrafted in New Haven”, curated by Florian Carle, with art by YQI Artist-in-Residence AiR Martha W Lewis to at NC A&T in January and at the CT Science Center in Hartford in April. We will host in April Quantum Week at Yale, be part of the festival of Arts and Ideas with YQI AiR Serena Scapagnini, and produce the play Copenhagen in partnership with UConn. And much more to come!
You can have a preview of the program in the last pages of the 2025 YQI Annual Report, out now!
We wish you will celebrate IYQ with us all year and hope to see you at our YQI or QuantumCT events!
Quantumly yours,
Florian Carle - YQI Managing Director
