Argonne National Laboratory : Two Postdoctoral Position Openings

Materials Science Division at Argonne National Laboratory is currently seeking for two candidates to fill postdoctoral positions in the area of applied superconductivity. We are looking for dynamic and self-motivated individuals with experience in the development and deployment of superconducting detectors and cryogenic systems, including design, microfabrication, and testing of superconducting devices. Experience with multiplexing electronics would be beneficial.

The successful candidates will be involved in developing the Transition Edge Sensors for a ground-based Cosmic Microwave Background experiment, and the ultra-low temperature bolometric and light detectors in connection with possible future large scale neutrinoless double-beta decay experiment(s).

Eligible candidates must have received their PhD in Physics or Materials Science (Applied Physics, Astrophysics, Electrical Engineering or related fields) within last three years, or be in the process of completing their degree requirements. The proposed starting is Oct. 1st , 2016 (negotiable). All PhD requirements must be met at the commencement of the appointment. The initial appointment will be for one year (renewable).

The application that includes cover letter, CV with the list of publications, significant presentations, and names of three academic references should be emailed to novosad@anl.gov.
