The Yale Quantum Institute is looking to hire a Yale student (through Yale Student Employment) to collaborate with YQI Artist-in-Residence Serena Scapagnini for her upcoming installation. Serena is looking for someone to collaborate with to create a 3D model of the artwork, which will be composed of 50+ pieces of papers hanging by wires from a metal plate fixed to the ceiling.
The 3D model will be used to visualize the artwork (see photo for example), export measurements of each wire, and create a model of the top plate (with hole patterns) to be exported for a CNC machine (only the model will be required, the CNC part will be done externally).
This job will require around 5 ($50/hour) in the span of a few weeks during March or April. The artwork will be installed at YQI in June and will be part of our permanent collection.
Please email Florian Carle at florian.carle@yale.edu if you are interested with your contact information and one or two pictures of a 3D model you previously created.
