PANYC 2026 - Photonics, Atomic Physics, and Optical Materials Student & Postdoc New York Conference (PANYC)

The Optica Student Chapter at Columbia University is organizing a one-day research symposium later this month to bring together student/postdoc researchers working in the areas of optics & photonics, atomic physics, and optical materials in the New York City Metropolitan Area to foster connections, collaborations, and exchange of ideas. The one-day event will feature talks and poster presentations by students and postdocs, as well as two keynote speakers: Dr. René-Jean Essiambre (Bell Labs Fellow at Nokia Bell Labs) and Ellen Neff (Science Communications Manager at Columbia Quantum Initiative)!

The event will take place on 26 June 2026 from 9:00AM-5:00PM on the Columbia University Morningside Heights campus (Northwest Corner building, room 501). Lunch and refreshments will be provided! If you or your peers/students/postdocs would like to present a poster or an oral talk at this exciting event, we are now accepting abstract submissions! Please submit a short abstract and register here.

If you would like to attend the event but not present, please use the same registration form. Registration is mandatory for attendance. We will follow up with all registrants and provide campus access details required to enter Columbia University.

Please share this email and the flyer attached with anyone that may be interested! Thanks, and we look forward to seeing you at Columbia in a few weeks!
