Join us for the screening of the 2025 documentary “Serena Scapagnini – The Space Beyond (Lo Spazio Oltre), 21 min”, co-produced by the Yale Quantum Institute during Serena’s 2024-2025 YQI AiR residency, narating her approach to artistic creation in collaboration with the scientific community. The documentary features some familiar YQI faces: Harsh Babla, Steve Girvin, and Florian Carle.
This event is hosted by the Wu Tsai Institute, where Scapagnini is starting her residency. She will discuss her research and visions for the beginning of the residency program at the Institute, drawing from past and current collaborations with neuroscientists at the Higley Lab and quantum researchers at the Yale Quantum Institute. She will reflect on how scientific interactions enrich her art, taking shape through drawings, paintings, spatial installations, and videos. A site-specific installation of Scapagnini’s work will be on display, and the audience will have ample opportunity to engage directly with the artist.
