Postdoctoral position - Argonne National Laboratory

The Nanoscience and Technology Division/Center for Nanoscale Materials (CNM) at Argonne National Laboratory has an available postdoctoral position within the Theory and Modeling Group, working with Stephen Gray and Matthew Otten.  The anticipated start date is on or shortly after  February 1, 2019.

The successful candidate will work on problems in quantum computing, quantum information, and quantum sensing.  This work will include both numerical and analytical components. Specific problems include development of new error mitigation and limited error correction techniques for small quantum computers and quantum sensors, quantum algorithm development for scientific applications, modeling open quantum systems including entangled photon generation in semiconductor quantum nanostructures, and quantum imaging.

The candidate should have or be receiving shortly a Ph.D. in physics, chemistry or a related field, and not be beyond one year of receiving the Ph.D.  Interested candidates should send a detailed curriculum vitae, including a list of publications and the names of three references to gray@anl.gov
