Postdoctoral Research Assistant - University of Oxford

Applications are invited for two Postdoctoral Research Assistants in Superconducting Quantum Circuits. The posts are available for a fixed-term until 31 December 2019.

This project will be to work on the development of superconducting circuit architectures for quantum computing, funded by a recently formed spin-out company, Oxford Quantum Circuits Limited (OQC).

The successful candidates will carry out experiments on superconducting microwave circuits in state-of-the-art cryogenic laboratories, and analyse, write up for publication, and present their results at research conferences. Their work may also involve superconducting microwave circuit design and simulation, cleanroom device fabrication, setup and operation of cryogenic systems, microwave control electronics and software. The postholder will have the opportunity to teach.

Applicants should possess, or be very close to obtaining, a doctorate in physics or a related field and ideally a strong background in either experimental quantum information or quantum device physics. Previous experience in the field of superconducting quantum circuits will be an advantage. Candidates are expected to demonstrate excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Please direct enquiries about the role to Dr Peter Leek (peter.leek@physics.ox.ac.uk).

You will be required to upload a brief statement of research interests, CV and details of two referees as part of your online application.

Only applications received before 12.00 midday on Thursday 24 August 2017 can be considered.
